Introduction
The Student Analytics Dashboard provides detailed insights into the performance, engagement, and submission patterns of individual students. By leveraging this data, you can better understand each student's progress, identify areas where they may need additional support, and tailor your teaching strategies accordingly.
Access the Student Analytics Dashboard
There are two ways to access the student analytics dashboard:
- On the 'Assignments' page, find the relevant student and click on the 'Student Analytics' icon.
- On the 'Course Analytics' page scroll down to the student engagement table, and click on the relevant student.
Student Engagement Overview
The first section of the dashboard offers a summary of the student’s submission status.
- Total Submissions: Indicates the number of assignments published by the instructor.
- You can use the switch to include pending assignments in the data.
Pie Chart Breakdown:
- On Time: Percentage of assignments submitted on or before the deadline.
- Late: Percentage of assignments submitted after the deadline.
- Missed: Percentage of assignments not submitted.
This overview gives you a quick understanding of the student's overall engagement and adherence to deadlines.
Submission Statuses
This section provides a detailed view of each assignment the student has worked on.
- Assignments: The title of each assignment.
- Status:
- On Time: Assignments submitted on or before the deadline.
- On Time Incomplete: Assignments submitted on time but incomplete.
- Late Complete: Assignments submitted after the deadline but completed.
- Late Incomplete: Assignments submitted late and incomplete.
- Missed: Assignments that were not submitted.
- Pending: Assignments that are due but not yet submitted.
- Grade: The score the student received for each assignment, out of a possible total (e.g., 7/10).
- Submission Date: The exact date and time the assignment was submitted.
Time Spent on Assignment Steps
This section breaks down the time the student spent on different steps of each assignment.
Step 1: Time spent reading and highlighting key points.
Step 2: Time spent reviewing the highlights and conversing with the Academic Coach.
Step 3: Time spent answering questions.
Actionable Insights
- Personalized Feedback: Based on the data, provide specific feedback to the student. For example, if a student is consistently late but performing well, discuss ways to improve time management.
- Identify At-Risk Students: Students with a high percentage of missed or incomplete assignments may need additional support or resources.
- Encourage Effective Study Habits: Use the time spent on assignment steps to suggest more balanced study practices, ensuring that students are engaging with the material meaningfully.
